Start with constraints, not preference

Think about everyday editing
List the tasks your team will perform: update service copy, add articles, change products or build campaign pages. Ask to see those tasks demonstrated in the proposed implementation. A flexible platform can still be difficult to use if the editing experience is poorly configured. Training and a simple content model matter as much as the platform label.
Check the integration requirements
Payment, booking, CRM and multilingual requirements should be tested against supported features. Confirm whether an integration needs a paid plan, an extension or custom work. Do not assume an application listed in a marketplace will match your full workflow. Document data mapping, failure handling and who supports the connection.
Compare total responsibility
For WordPress, assign hosting, backups, security updates and extension maintenance. For Wix, check subscription costs, application fees and export or migration constraints. In both cases, keep business accounts under your control and document renewal dates. The right choice is the one your business can operate reliably with its available support.
Make a decision using a small prototype
If the choice remains unclear, prototype a key page and one integration. Compare editing effort, mobile usability and the actual constraints encountered. For a simple managed presence, convenience may be decisive. For a more specialised content or integration project, flexibility may carry more weight. Obtain a scoped recommendation rather than a universal platform verdict.
